What's Elixir? Webinar
Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (PDT)
Elixir is a functional meta-programming aware language built on top of the Erlang VM. It is a dynamic language with flexible and homoiconic syntax that leverages Erlang's abilities to build concurrent, distributed, fault-tolerant applications with hot code upgrades.
Our webinar organizer, Yurii, being an Erlang developer since around 2001, has been involved with Elixir since early 2012 and couldn't resist the temptation to switch over. He has contributed a number of features into the languages itself (like type specifications support) as well as some third party libraries (GenX and others).
During this webinar, we'll go through the basics of the language and create an example application to enable all attendees to explore this interesting language on their own.
We would expect you to know at least basic Erlang in order to gain most value out of this webinar. If you're interested in learning more about Erlang itself, e-mail us at email@example.com
